Fracking For Export and Foreign Investment???

American LNG for export to profit foreign investors?

According to a Financial Times article, China fund invests in US gas export plant a China sovereign wealth fund, CIC,  has invested in Cheniere Energy Partners plant planned to export U.S. LNG. This deal is being fronted by Blackstone along with the government of Singapore Investment Corp and the state of Louisiana in hopes to shade the CIC interest from public and political view, "CIC hopes to avoid the sort of political backlash that has doomed other energy deals, notably the failed bid by Chinese National Offshore Oil Company for Unocal in 2005." and "Some in the US would argue that it should not export gas that could otherwise be sold cheaply in the domestic market."

The article also revealed there is a deal, receiving a lot of resistance in Canada, between  the Canadian oil company Nexen and Cnooc. And a potential deal in the U.S. between Chesapeake Energy and Sinopec.  Chesapeake is an Oklahoma  company controlling 7% of the U.S. natural gas.

As a side note: Mitt Romney's co-chairs of his Asia fundraising arm have both received  big dollars from CIC and one of them came from Blackstone.
